27 January - 5 February
Join RCA students, staff and guests at several upcoming webinars as part of the online WiP2021 Exhibition and view the show from 27 January 2021.
You are invited to upcoming School of Arts and Humanities events as part of Work in Progress 2021. The online exhibition will be open to the public from 28 January 2021.
Like artists, creators, designers and curators all around the world this year, our students have adapted, innovated and reimagined in recent months. An RCA degree questions established narratives – this has never been more relevant, and has been a prominent feature of our studio (whether at-home or on-campus) and online delivery over the last few months.
For the first time, the Royal College of Art's annual presentation of Work in Progress will this year take place online as a digital platform, accompanied by a programme of digital events.
Wherever you are in the world, join us online to explore and immerse yourself in the thinking and work in progress of the world's most talented emerging artists and designers.

About the exhibition
Galleri Heike Arndt DK is pleased to present the annual SCOUT exhibition, exploring new artistic directions and surprises. In the selected artworks, we invite you to discover a number of materials and techniques that are evocative of a number of emotions, reflecting their artists stories and journeys. SCOUT is an opportunity to reflect on present times and the human being itself. We offer an insight of poetic and urban complexity, but retain a playful sense of humour with both local and international meaning.

Curator Patricia Brien:
From nonmatter emerges poetic spaces of nothingness. This spatial emptiness waxes dark
mass and a new spiritual gestation. A coded dialogue is written in the deep seams of carbon,
bearing the deconstruction of material and nonlinear points of multiplicity. Sharp angles
mutate into gentle recesses, energised with the properties of light and the intimacy of a
dream.
The pleasure in the surge of viscosity, and the illusion of vulnerability creates a space
between people, an assemblage which orientates the human to positive kinetic chaos.

Reset Unsettling Flesh Layers
This exhibition represents the accumulation of ever-accelerating rhythms in the altermodern
world and the momentum of regeneration. A spiralling ascension of energy followed by the
shedding of skin and matter, folding backwards into grey foundations of urban displacement.
There is a convergence of ancient forests and radiant future seed particles, mapping
migratory paths through time and space. The body is but a site of irrational experience which
confronts the machines of carbon-heavy Modernity.
A Kali-destructive rampage of nihilism anticipates the coming still; hyper-sensitising rituals,
filament tensions and porous-smooth materiality of the posthuman condition. This is an
emerging non-state where the more-than-human world metamorphoses in perpetuum into a
new corporeal becoming. The uncontaminated hierarchs falter and drop from the sky.

Pilotenkueche International Residency Program
I am excited to be one of 12 selected artists from around the world to participate in the Pilotenkueche International Residency Program in Leipzig, Germany, and work in the 465m2 communally used space for an period of three months, with 24 hour studio access. Each artist is given a studio of 36m2 of their own and is offered a partial stipend. It is an independent project organised by artists for artists. During the programmed events the studio becomes the exhibition space. The goal is to provide artists with a base to work from, and acts as a conduit to the local art scene. The concept strives to create a communal space for experimental collaboration and discourse between participants, as well as with the greater Leipzig Community.
They focus on an exchange through group dynamics, experimental strategies and trans-disciplinary ethos. The kinetic dialogue in a group of artists influences each to experiment in their art, ideas, approaches and methods. Pilotenkueche wishes to provide participants with the experience of accomplishing something as a group, and moreover, in experimenting with new forms of cooperation which are vital in fostering an independent position in one's work. This leads to an intensive dialogue about individual ideas and working practices, binding the artists temporarily within the group, which leads to a long-term network that exists even after the residency is over. During each round of the residency, the group of artists can realize and show their projects during our program events.
As part of the residency, each artist participates in external studio visits and gallery tours, connecting the artists to the local art scene. The artist also has the chance to take part in an artist talk, which further clarifies their position, open studio events, as well as scheduled consultations and critiques, culminating in a final group exhibition.

Departure Boatclub
I am super exited to have a floating vernissage as I will be exhibiting on a small festival on a boat arranged by Linda Pistol.
_________________________

Departure is a boat club anyone can join.
Every Monday one weeks before Depature, only 120 tickets are released for this small intimate boat trip.
Along with the most interesting local acts, we invite you to a small festival on the sundeck while we float around the Stockholm archipelago.

Terracotta Warriors, Dragon Gate, Älvkarleby, Sweden
Excited to be part of the upcoming Music & Arts event ‘Grisfesten’ (Pig’s party) on the grounds of the mythical ’Dragon Gate’ April 30th.
Dragon Gate was initially built by the Chinese billionaire ‘Mr. Li’ who wanted to build something great to honor Chinese culture and establish his legacy in his newfound country of Sweden.
But due to a series of controversies and difficulties with the Swedish bureaucracy the Dragon Gate was closed and left to decay until recently when Dragon Grate reopened for business.
The organizers of the Stockholm-based ‘Technobastun’ will now host a unique event with an amazing line up of Swedish and international DJ’s like Kornel Kovacs, Turtle Bugg, Art Alfie and Fabio Scali, and a group show with artists including Militza Monteverde, Tomas Sjögren, Hilde Retzlaff, Duda Bebek, Alexandra Karpilovski and many more Music and Arts acts.

This is a show set in my apartment - as I will be leaving Australia to move to Sweden soon and just before I leave my apartment will be empty.
This is my way of saying thank you to the Perth art community and all the people in it that has shaped my experince in Perth to something incredible. We are all part of a movement to create something better and it's been great to be a part of that. We are all on the verge of creating greatness.
The show also reflects the lack of places to exhibit art in the world - and how we can create those opportunities together. Art exist to make people think - lets create a movement that opens opportunities for artists to ignite thoughts in Perth.

Art Degree Show
Exhibition Times: 10am to 4pm Saturday 6th to Wednesday 10th December 2014.
